Artists’ Guild of Lewisburg
The Artists’ Guild of Lewisburg is a group of visual artists whose mission is to form a community that strives to encourage, challenge, support and inspire its members. The Guild holds critiques, hosts trips, plans local events, has an annual members show, keeps members up to date on art shows in the area, and shares opportunities such as calls for artists, gallery notices, and teaching opportunities.
The Guild was started in 2012 when a group of artists and art lovers felt that more support was needed for the many area artists. Over the years we have sponsored a bus trip to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, informal plein air events at local natural sites, critiques in homes and art studios and during the pandemic online via Zoom, and beginning in 2015 an annual Members’ Show.
Additionally, the Guild has worked to match local artists with art opportunities such as teaching workshops, displaying artwork in local businesses, and participating in festivals. We have partnered with the Linn Conservancy to host a plein air event for high school art students with a featured artist from the Guild; with the Lewisburg Children’s Museum to offer art classes with children; with the Lewisburg Garden Club to place artists in neighborhood gardens for the garden tour; and with BRVA to offer art classes to the community.
We are continuously working to expand opportunities for artists and to support each other. Someday we hope to have our own gallery and show space. Please join us in making Lewisburg an engaging, supportive, profitable and joyful place for artists to live and work.
