Beginner Metalsmithing Workshop

copper earrings with pierced designs of gingko leaves and treesJoin us for a beginner level metalsmithing workshop where you’ll create your own one-of-a-kind copper earrings. No experience required, participants will learn basic piercing techniques using a small hand saw known as a jeweler’s saw. Create your own design or choose from one of several examples. Designs will be drawn on and cut from prefabricated metal sheet blanks approximately 1-1.5 inches in length.

Designed will be finished in the workshop by texturing, forming and antiquing the metal then attaching the copper to ear wires. The finished project will be made of copper with sterling silver wires.

The workshop is led by Sarah Binder, a local jewelry artist with over 15 years of experience. Sarah studied metalsmithing at Cedar Crest College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art. Drawing inspiration from nature, she creates unique, handcrafted jewelry under the brand Sincerely Sarah. Her work can be found at SincerelySarahJewelry.com, as well as at local markets and shops, showcasing her dedication to craftsmanship and her love for nature’s beauty

Tools and safety glasses will be provided. The workshop is free and open to the public, age 18+. Registration is required, maximum of 8 participants.
