Calligraphy Workshop: Blackletter Basics
The Lewisburg Arts Council invites you to join local calligrapher Della Hutchison for “Blackletter Basics,” a four-part exploration of the timeless art of calligraphy, which combines centuries-old traditional methods with contemporary designs and inspiration.
Each of the four weeks will introduce new tools and techniques as well as skills that will enable brand-new beginners to explore other styles after the workshop ends. Because later lessons build on previous ones, participants should plan to attend all four sessions.
The workshop will be held from 7:00 to 8:30 PM on four consecutive Tuesday evenings from September 17 through October 8 at The Gallery (the former Packwood House Annex), 15 North Water Street, Lewisburg.
All supplies will be provided, thanks to sponsorship by Bucknell University.
The workshop — open to ages 16 and up — is limited to 10 participants. Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Registration is required. Registration closes Tuesday, September 10, at 11:59 PM.
