Sketching with Colored Pencils Workshop

This class teaches color-sketching for artists, non-artists, and anyone interested in developing this versatile skill set. Sketching is more than a tool for developing artistic ideas — it’s an art form in its own right. In this course, you’ll learn about common tools, how to develop a design concept, create a sense of space, approach perspective, choose a palette, and more!

Mark Heid spent four years at the Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia and two years studying with noted painter Nelson Shanks. His training covered foundational painting skills, including anatomy, color theory, composition, and historical painting techniques. Mark believes art is a skill anyone can benefit from, regardless of experience level, and he loves to teach it.

This class will meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm, on February 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th. Participation in all four workshops is encouraged but not required. Supplies are included. Suitable for adult and teens 13+. Maximum number of students is 12.
