Third Thursday at the Gallery
Thursday, January 16
Join us for a special evening performance by acclaimed multi-instrumental musician Steve Adams at The Gallery! The performance will also include food, drinks, and desserts from the Paris Bakery. There will be a meet the artist panel after Steve’s performance.
The Gallery is located at 15 North Water Street in Lewisburg.
Steve Adams grew up outside of Philadelphia, where he absorbed the musical influences of the city. He moved up to central Pennsylvania in 1979. Starting on accordion, he took lessons with John Grande, accordion/piano player for Bill Haley’s Comets. Accordion did not fit well with the music of the mid-60’s, so Steve moved on to the guitar, organ and piano. He studied counterpoint and classical piano at Temple University and improvisation, arranging and composition with Dennis Sandole. In 2009, Steve attended Dave Liebman’s master class on Chromaticism in Melody and Harmony at East Stroudsburg University and studied with Hammond organist Pat Bianchi in 2016-17.
Steve has performed with accomplished artists such as Dave Liebman, Jim Pugh, Virginia Mayhew, Gary Thomas, Tim Warfield, Herb Robertson, and Eddie Severn.
He currently performs with many musical groups, including the Williamsport City Jazz Orchestra, the Lycoming College Jazz Ensemble, Organ Trio East and Plan B. He also performs regularly with the Williamsport City Jazz Quartet on Thursday nights at Stonehouse Pizza in Williamsport.
More About Third Thursdays at the Gallery
Produced by long time Lewisburg resident and acclaimed NYC artist, Phil Haynes, in collaboration with and for the Lewisburg Arts Council, Third Thursday will showcase Lewisburg as a cultural center of the Susquehanna Valley.
On the third Thursday evening of each month in 2025, Third Thursday will present culturally and ethnically diverse intimate performance presentations, from our Lewisburg community and beyond, including ‘pop to jazz to folk to classical’: singer-songwriters, instrumentalists, theater performers, poets, pianists, and much more. We plan to draw upon performers from our public schools, talented area amateurs, assorted regional professionals, as well as Bucknell University students, faculty, and staff to create a most colorful and entertaining series.
All performances will be free, family friendly programming and open and welcoming to the public.
