Exhibition Dates and Times

Friday, October 3 through Saturday, October 25

The exhibition will be open to the public Thursdays & Fridays: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM and Saturdays: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Opening Reception

Saturday, October 4 from 1-3pm

Awards will be presented at the reception, presentation starts at 1:30pm.

2025 Photography Exhibition Guidelines

Deadline to enter is Wednesday, September 24, 2025

Work must be registered online by the deadline. No registration at drop off.

Eligibility

  • All ages and skill levels of photographers are welcome.
  • The photographer must be the sole creator of the photograph.
  • AI (Artificial Intelligence) created or heavily edited work is NOT accepted.
  • Photographers must live within a 30-mile radius of Lewisburg.

Requirements

  • Largest size: Photos must be framed. Frame sizes up to 12”x16” inner dimension (portrait or landscape) and 12”x12” (square) are acceptable.
  • Mounting: All entries should be framed and wired (no saw tooth hangers) for hanging. White mat and black frame preferred. Black mats or no mats also acceptable. Prints on canvas, wood, metal or other substrates are not allowed.
  • Wire hangers should not be visible when hung.
  • Number: Each photographer may enter a total of three (3) photographs. You may enter those 3 photographs into different categories or one category.
  • The original photograph must have been taken within the past two (2) years and not previously entered in the LAC photography exhibition.

Levels

  • Age Groups: Adult: 18 and older, Youth: 13 – 17, and Children: 12 and younger.
  • Categories for the Adult Age Group Only:
    • Black and White
    • Nature
    • Lifestyle
    • Artistic/Abstract

Category Descriptions

Black and White: Photographs presented in black and white. Images should rely on light, shadow, and contrast rather than color.

Nature: Photographs of the natural world, including landscapes, wildlife, plants, and weather. No human elements should be visible.

Lifestyle: Photographs that depict people, daily activities, or cultural moments. Can be candid or posed, with a focus on storytelling.

Artistic/Abstract: Photographs that focus on visual expression over realism. This category encourages creative techniques, conceptual work, and breaking traditional photography rules.

The Lewisburg Arts Council reserves the right to change the category or withhold from judging if the artwork is not respresentative of the category it is entered into.

Registration, Delivery, and Pick-up

  • Adults: $10 non-refundable entry fee per photograph up to (3) photographs.
  • Children under age 18: $5 for each submitted photograph up to (3) photographs.
  • All work must be registered online by the deadline of September 24, 2025. No registration at drop off.
  • Works must be hand-delivered to the Gallery at 15 N Water Street, Lewisburg, PA on Saturday, September 27 from 10am-12pm or Monday, September 29 from 6-8pm.
  • Please download and print the registration form and labels and fix label/s to the back of your work prior to dropping them off.
  • Pick up photographs from the Gallery at 15 N Water St, Lewisburg, PA on Sunday, October 26 from 10am-12pm or Monday, October 27 from 6-8pm. All photographs MUST be removed within this time frame. The Lewisburg Arts Council will not assume responsibility for any works not picked up.

Judging and Awards

  • A panel of regional photographers will judge photographs.
  • The Lewisburg Arts Council reserves the right to reject entries that are deemed inappropriate for the Exhibition.
  • Cash prizes will be awarded for Best of Show and 1st and 2nd place in each age group/category.
  • Ribbons will be awarded to 3rd place in each category and Judges’ Choice.
