Music in the Park: Penn Central Wind Band

The award-winning Penn Central Wind Band is delighted to return to Music In The Park on July 3, for what will be its 26th year.  They will be bringing uplifting, foot-tapping music in addition to patriotic and timeless tunes by classic composers such as John Philip Sousa – just in time for the Fourth of July! The Penn Central Wind Band is an all-volunteer group of great musicians, many of whom are professional performers and music teachers, under the direction of William Kenny, who has been a professor of music at Bucknell for over three decades. They are generously sponsored by Bucknell University as a service to the region and the Lewisburg community.

Other concert dates: On Wednesday, June 5, our friends and neighbors from RiverStage will preview selections from their summer musical, “Oliver!”  And, in a nod to the 55th anniversary of Woodstock, the summer’s final concert on Wednesday, August 7, will feature The Folk Justice Band.
